TOLWORTH, West Molesey, west byfleet and online

I have been a Moves Fitness Instructor for 27 years this November and I always knew I loved this programme but had no idea I would be teaching this long and I certainly don’t have any plans to stop teaching.

My introduction to Moves Fitness was when I was at Tolworth Girls’ School and Cindy started teaching Moves Fitness in Tolworth Recreation Centre and was quite a celebrity in the local community. The classes were massive and I remember attending classes a couple of times when I was still at school and a couple of my PE teachers were instructors. I only enjoyed PE when we did Moves Fitness!

When I started working in 1988 I started attending more regularly, about 4 classes a week. I had a relationship break up which was very traumatic and my counsellor at the time told me to go for it and do the Teacher Training Programme. Moves Fitness changed my outlook on life and confidence.

When I first started teaching in 1996 I was also working full time in an office as well as teaching 2-4 classes a week.

In 2011 my personal circumstances changed and I was able to think about teaching Moves Fitness full time. At that time my Mum had decided she couldn’t keep up with Moves Fitness as she was 80 and so I started teaching Moves Fitness Gold. My Mum sadly passed away in 2015 but I continue to teach Moves Fitness Gold in Tolworth and Molesey and also online. That’s Mum’s lasting legacy!

The first class I started on Saturday mornings 27 years ago has changed venues a number of times but I have been teaching in the Molesey Centre now for at least 15 years and I still love getting up early and teaching on a Saturday morning.

Moves Fitness not only keeps your body fit but it is most important for mental health as well. All the classes are very friendly and I love working out with all my friends! Moves Fitness brings everyone together in lasting relationships.
